Click and collect from your local Post Office with Amazon

Amazon has joined Royal Mail’s Local Collect ‘click and collect’ network, a partnership between the Post Office and Royal Mail, and the largest in the UK.

As part of its PickUp Location Programme Amazon customers now have access to more than 10,500 Post Office branches, taking the total number of Amazon pickup points across the UK to more than 16,000. Customers will benefit by being able to pick up their Amazon goods from the Post Office that is most convenient to them. The flexible service

Waitrose targets the ‘transumer’

Technology and convenience are yet again working together to extend a helping hand to the busy consumer.

This time it is Waitrose supermarket providing a flexible shopping service to its customers by offering fully automated, temperature-controlled, grocery Click & Collect lockers across the transport network.

Using a computer, tablet or mobile phone customers will be able to access either the store’s website or app to place orders that will go on to be stored in ambient, chilled and frozen

Click and collect transport hubs

Click and collect transport based sites are growing in fashion among the retailers.

Rail and underground tubes stations are now the latest sites that time-short consumers can conveniently collect their online shopping from. In fact using stations as hubs for internet shopping may well be the best option for both the consumer and the retailer as the handy shopping service is upping sales too for some retailers. Click, collect and coffee

House of Fraser and Caffe Nero have announced a joint venture that will see customers shopping online and collecting orders during their coffee break.

Debuting on 16 October 2014 in Cambridge, a Caffe Nero/House of Fraser store will offer coffee downstairs and a click and collect service upstairs. The move apparently made sense, as House of Fraser has no stores in the city of Cambridge.

Downstairs, in Caffe Nero, it will be coffee as usual with the addition of several tablet and touch screen devices
